Cutting edge Web 2.0 technology is now available for unsigned bands
and artists thanks to conceptTshirts.com who have started a free
interactive web 2.0 site to give exposure to new bands and contemporary
artists.
Web 2.0 technology is the 2nd generation of the web and brings
collaboration and interactivity to sites that were previously top-down
and undemocratic. Users can add their bands and artworks to the
site and everyone can vote on them and comment on them. A whole
artistic community of bands and artists can critique each other’s
work whilst the community democratically decides which bands and
art are most highly regarded.
Whilst web 2.0 has been available for tech sites for months, this
is a fantastic way for artists and musicians to experience the freedom
and extra features that the 2nd generation of websites is able to
offer. Users can communicate with each other and mark each other
as friends, sharing their favourite sites and ideas about their
art and music.
Jonathan Powell, webmaster at conceptTshirts.com said, ‘Most
of the artists here are musicians as well, and we wanted to do something
that would get them and the thousands of other unsigned musicians
some free exposure. We hope that this will turn into a huge cultural
community with unsigned bands getting success and artists networking
and finding exhibitions. We couldn’t have done this site even
six months ago, we are on the cutting edge of web applications and
we are glad that we can help artists and bands.
