Alexander Litvinenko dies in London hospital
The former spy Alexander Litvinenko has dies in London after being suffering suspected radioactive poisoning. Whilst still alive he accused the Russian president Vladimir Putin of being complicit in the attack.
British police are now investigating the death and are searching buildings in London for signs of radioactive material. Litvinenko may not have ingested the poison but may just have been exposed to it.
After initial reports that Thallium was involved, it is now believed that the attack may have been carried out with polonium.
