Don’t execute Saddam

Saddam has been found guilty. Not much surprise. But do not execute him. As many commentators have said he will become a martyr. But it is also so clearly wrong. If Iraq wants to make a break with the past then do so fundamentally. Value life. If Iraq could change so far that they could imprison rather than execute Saddam then the country really would be noticably on the road to a much better future.
