Online gambling firms shares plummet
What is going on in the US with the anti-gambling law debarcle? Online gambling companies have seen their share prices fall by up to 60%. And this owing to the land of the free saying, in the words of US senate leader ‘The bottom line is simple. Internet gambling is illegal.’ Are they really wanting to criminalise the millions of people who enjoy playing poker online and are members of communities that have grown up around peer to peer sites? Poker has become a genteel hobby written about in Sunday supplements. The US is behind world opinion on this one so let’s hope no more UK business get arrested in the US because their business has suddenly become illegal.
PS - I don’t even play poker myself. But I know a crazy law when I see one.
